CHOIR LEADER: KELLY YOUNG
Hello! I’m Kelly, and I’m so excited to introduce my Plymouth Musical Theatre Choir to you!
I’m a professional vocalist, performer & singing teacher with an incredibly diverse background. I have a natural ability to connect with even the shyest of singers, and build their confidence over time.
I love to create a safe, friendly and fun environment in which singers can thrive. I truly believe that singing is for everyone, and spreading the joy and health benefits that singing brings.
I’m experienced in singing on UK Tours, Cruises, West End and international orchestras, and I’ve been lucky enough to sing with Michael Bublé and Gareth Malone! I keep busy gigging locally and across the UK solo and as a multi tribute act.
In addition to performing, I’m a busy singing teacher and run Exeter Singing Lesson. Before focusing on my choirs and performing, I held the posts of Associate Lecture (Voice) at Oxford Brookes University, Repertoire Coach & Singing Tutor at Mountview on the Exeter Cert HE couse, and I worked for the NHS for two years in forensic mental health as a specialist music instructor.
You can find more about me at www.kellyyoungvocals.com & www.exetersinginglessons.com
Kelly is a member of the Musicians Union, South West Voice Hub & AOTOS.
